Jackson and Coker is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Nebraska. This role involves a mix of outpatient clinic visits, inpatient consults, and a variety of GI procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in ERCP and EUS, contributing to a supportive clinical environment with dedicated support staff and intensivist coverage.
Practice Info
- Patient Volume: 10–20 outpatient visits/day; <5 inpatient consults/day
- Procedure Volume: Up to 5 procedures per day
- Anesthesia support is used (no conscious sedation)
- Hospitalists admit all GI patients
- EMR: Epic
- 90 active beds
Responsibilities
- Perform ERCP and EUS procedures
- Perform colon biopsy, upper/lower endoscopy with biopsy, and general GI procedures
- Manage GI bleeds
- Conduct rounding and ED call
- Perform scheduled/non-scheduled procedures during call

Shift & Schedule
- Clinic Schedule: 2–3 days per week (typically 2 half-days and 1 full day)
- Call Requirements: 24-hour call (weekday and weekend) based on availability
- Call Duties: Includes rounding, ED call, and scheduled/non-scheduled procedures
- Call Volume: Approximately 0–2 patients per day
Requirements
- Must be current ABMS Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Permanent NE license and DEA required for payer credentialing (IMLC available)
- Flu shot required

- ERCP and EUS highly preferred
