Sanford Health, one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States, is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist to join its practice in Fargo, North Dakota. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art medical center with recently upgraded endoscopes and collaborative support from transplant-trained pancreato-biliary surgeons. The position involves providing comprehensive gastroenterological care to adolescent and adult patients.
Practice Info
- Recently upgraded endoscopes, Olympus 190 series Spyglass Esophageal and anorectal motility lab
- Fellowship trained colorectal surgeon on-site
- Transplant trained pancreato-biliary surgeons on-site for collaboration
- Bi-week GI malignancy case conference with oncology, radiation oncology, IR/radiology, surgery and GI
- 100% Hospitalist coverage
- 583-bed tertiary/trauma hospital
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examinations
- Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
- Provide consultative services
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to adolescent and adult patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the stomach, intestines, and related structures, such as the esophagus, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas including biopsies

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program
- Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- If not board certified, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training
- Ability to demonstrate active involvement in 50 gastroenterology cases in the last 12 months (for applicants not directly out of fellowship)
