Sanford Health is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join their growing team in Bemidji, Minnesota. This role offers a balanced practice with 50% procedures and 50% clinic work, supported by a large referral base. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive gastroenterological care to adolescent and adult patients within a supportive and expanding health system.

  • 118 bed hospital with a 14 bed ICU

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examinations
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
  • Provide consultative services
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to adolescent and adult patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the stomach, intestines, and related structures (esophagus, liver, gallbladder, pancreas)
  • Perform biopsies

Compensation

  • Nationally competitive compensation plan
  • Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $530,393 - $686,391 plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program
  • Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (required for those who completed fellowship more than five years ago)
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training
  • Demonstrate active involvement in 50 gastroenterology cases in the last 12 months (for applicants not applying directly out of fellowship)
