Position Overview

Growing Hospital system seeks a Gastroenterologist to work in Knoxville, Tennessee. This employed position is with the region’s top healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Assess, maintain, and improve the health status of individuals in the communities served through timely access to evidence‑based acute, preventive, and chronic disease care.


• Serve as a role model of professionalism and collaborate with all other practitioners and clinical support staff to form a high‑performing team.


• Provide high‑value care; demonstrate good stewardship of resources by limiting unnecessary testing and referrals; consider risks, benefits, and patient preferences when making diagnostic or therapeutic intervention decisions.


• Document all patient care activities and services provided in the electronic health record with clear, concise, accurate, updated information sufficient for continuity of care.


• Support a thriving practice with a very active recall and screening direct‑access program and an extensive new‑patient waitlist.


• Provide 1:5 on‑call coverage covering Methodist Medical Center only.


• Support full‑time nurse practitioners and a call 1:5 NP support staff.


• Operate in a clinic connected to the hospital for convenient access.


• Perform ERCP preferred, if applicable.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist


• Ability to hold an unrestricted state of Tennessee MD or DO licensure
