The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) is seeking a Board-Certified Staff Gastroenterologist in Loma Linda, CA to care for our Veterans. The selected candidate will have the opportunity for a faculty appointment within the Section of Gastroenterology at Loma Linda University, engaging in the education of fellows, medical students, and residents. • Composed of the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center, seven community clinics, and a 340,000 square foot Ambulatory Care Center
• Facility features 162 acute care beds and a 108-bed Community Living Center
• Affiliated with Loma Linda University and the University of California Riverside
• Provides a wide variety of services through inpatient, outpatient, and home care programs

Shift & Schedule

• Tour of duty: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• No on-call
• Alternative work schedule may be available, to include part-time appointments

Responsibilities

• Completing patient history and physical examinations, diagnosis, and therapeutic ability
• Demonstrating effectiveness in emergencies, patient management, consultation, specialty skills, and record keeping
• Promoting delivery of quality patient care based on current standards in the practice of gastroenterology in the hospital
• Performing endoscopy and inpatient consultations
• Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students in a hospital setting
• Planning, evaluating, and documenting educational activities
• Conducting optional research responsibilities, including quality improvement projects

Compensation

• Salary: $330,000- $370,000

Qualifications

• Board-Certified Staff Gastroenterologist
• Skilled in performing endoscopy
• Possess skill and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
• No visa sponsorship available
