Technical SpecialistAs a Technical Specialist, you will support the terminal Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9). You will need to be a motivated member of the team able to think outside of the box to troubleshoot problems and ready to collaborate with the team to solve them. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of technical systems and eager to learn and build on their existing knowledge and experience.ResponsibilitiesWork under direct supervision in a team environmentProvides support in the Radar technologies and practices for the testing real time system composed of hardware, software, and firmwareSupport the development of kits for modifications to be sent to the fieldAssist in the design, development, and testing modern solutions to incorporate existing systems and equipmentReview and perform installation procedures for system modifications and verificationQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required and three (3) year of related experience ORAssociates degree in a related field and at least one (1) year of related experienceTechnical ProficienciesRequired Willing to travel on short notice for ASR-9 engineering support/installationFamiliarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and hardware/softwareExcellent communication skillsAble to lift up to 50 lbs.Preferred Radar and test equipment knowledgeThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position.
