Junior Computer ScientistAs a Junior Computer Scientist, you will work on Aeronautical Information Management Modernization (AIMM) to provide Aeronautical Common Services (ACS) for the Special Activity Airspace, Federal NOTAM System, and airport configuration data. You will be working independently with supervision to support software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance to computer systems.ResponsibilitiesSupport system development, testing, integration, and deployment activities for the ACSSupport installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Linux systemsDevelop and document testing proceduresDevelop and manage Linux shell scripts for application software testing and administrationAble to debug software issues in Linux environmentsSupport development of Oracle database test scriptsAble to read, decipher, and troubleshoot XML files and WSDLsCreate and conduct Web Service tests using SoapUIReview and comment on system engineering documents, system requirement documents, ad system testing documentsAttend system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and additional meetings to support the program and team as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree of Science in Computer Science, Math, or another technical field and three years of related work experienceORMaster's degree with one year of related work experience in computer science or mathTechnical ProficienciesRequired Willing to travelWorking knowledge and background of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Operating Systems, Linux shell scripting, VMware virtual environment, XMLTechnical understanding of systems, databases, networking, and computing environmentsKnowledge of automated test toolsPreferred Working knowledge of Web Service testing with SoapUI test toolUnix/Linux Operating Systems Administration skillsWorking knowledge of networking, client server architecture, cloud computing and enterprise system architectureUnderstanding of IP network technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshootingUnderstanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Java Message Service (JMS), Web Services (Not Web Page development), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) Communication ProtocolKnowledge of SQL scripts for Relational Database testing, Python scripting, and task automation methods and software (e.g. Ansible, scripting)Familiarity with C, C++, Java, SQL, and AssemblyFamiliarity with the following web applications HTML 5/XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, JSON technologiesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position.
