Job Title: Fundamental Analyst
Location: Houston, TX
A global energy company is seeking a sharp and driven Fundamental Analyst to support its expanding asset hedging and trading business in the power sector. This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of experience in quantitative and fundamental analysis, within U.S. power markets. You will report directly to the Head Trader and play a critical role in supporting investment, origination, and hedging strategies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and fundamental analysis to support trading and hedging decisions in power markets.
- Work with large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across ISOs.
- Build and maintain financial models and analytical tools to support asset valuation and strategy development.
- Collaborate with trading, strategy, and commercial teams to deliver actionable insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in power analysis, trading support, quantitative analysis, or financial modeling within power markets.
- Strong understanding of U.S. ISO markets; ERCOT experience is highly recommended.
- Proficiency in Excel and Python
- Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
