Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to understand clients' mental and emotional needs, developing tailored treatment plans in collaboration with each individual. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to deliver high-quality therapy to clients, both in group settings and in one-on-one sessions, ranging from cognitive-behavioral therapy to mindfulness practices. Work effectively with case managers, medical professionals, and other team members to ensure seamless and cohesive care for clients, even in high-stress situations. Engage in crisis intervention, offering immediate support and strategies for clients in acute distress, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Participate in community outreach programs to enhance mental health awareness, sharing knowledge and resources that can aid in reducing stigma around mental health issues. Patient Population / Client Focus The Mental Health Counselor will primarily serve individuals navigating the complex challenges of mental health struggles and addiction recovery. We focus on catering to a diverse clientele, including various age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses, ensuring that every client receives personalized and culturally competent care. Qualifications The candidate must possess a current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required. Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills is crucial, with the ability to forge strong therapeutic relationships with clients. Evidence of cultural competence and the ability to operate effectively within diverse communities. Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and progress notes accurately, adhering to best practices in record-keeping. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth practices will support your daily tasks effectively.
