Pest Hunters of Greenville and Humbug Lighting of Greenville are seeking a dependable, motivated Full-Time Pest Control & Lighting Technician to join our growing team.
This is a unique year-round position combining two skilled service trades:
Pest Control Technician with Pest Hunters of Greenville
and
Lighting Installation Technician with Humbug Lighting of Greenville.
Rather than hiring employees for only one seasonal function, we cross-train our technicians so they can develop multiple skills, work across our service businesses, and have opportunities to increase their earnings as their capabilities and performance grow.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, is comfortable interacting with customers, and wants to be rewarded for excellent performance.
Compensation
Guaranteed Base Pay: $22.00/hour
In addition to competitive base pay, technicians are eligible for performance-based compensation that can increase total earnings to the equivalent of up to $35.00/hour.

Pest Control Technician Responsibilities
As a Pest Control Technician, you will be trained to provide residential and commercial pest-management services.
Responsibilities may include:
Performing scheduled pest-control services
Performing mosquito and other outdoor pest treatments
Inspecting properties for pest activity and conducive conditions
Identifying common household and exterior pests
Applying pest-control products according to labels, company procedures, and applicable regulations
Treating standing-water and mosquito-breeding areas
Providing exterior perimeter treatments
Installing and servicing pest-control equipment and systems
Documenting treatments and service activities
Communicating findings and recommendations to customers
Identifying opportunities for additional services
Maintaining pest-control equipment and materials
Maintaining required treatment and regulatory records
Following all pesticide, PPE, environmental, and safety requirements
The company will provide training and support for obtaining applicable South Carolina pest-control licenses and certifications.
Lighting Installation Technician Responsibilities
As a Lighting Installation Technician, you will be trained to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and remove multiple types of professional lighting systems.
Work may include:
Landscape lighting
Architectural lighting
Permanent roofline/accent lighting
Holiday and Christmas lighting
Residential lighting
Commercial lighting
Responsibilities may include:
Installing professional lighting systems
Installing low-voltage wiring
Installing transformers, controllers, and related components
Installing landscape and architectural fixtures
Installing permanent lighting systems
Installing holiday roofline lighting, trees, wreaths, garland, and other décor
Working safely from ladders
Troubleshooting lighting systems
Replacing and repairing components
Performing service calls
Maintaining installation tools and equipment
Loading and unloading vehicles and trailers
Organizing customer materials
Removing and storing seasonal lighting
Maintaining clean and professional job sites
Customer Service

Sales & Performance Opportunities

Customer referrals
Technicians may earn additional performance compensation for qualified leads, referrals, sales, upgrades, and other revenue-generating activities in accordance with the company's incentive program.
You do not have to be a salesperson to succeed in this position.
We do, however, expect our technicians to recognize customer needs and communicate opportunities when they see them.

Previous pest-control or lighting experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.

Physical Requirements
This is an active field position.
Candidates must be able to:
Work outdoors in hot and cold weather
Walk and stand for extended periods
Frequently lift and carry equipment and materials
Lift approximately 50 pounds
Safely use ladders after appropriate training
Work at heights when performing lighting installations
Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive physical activities
Enter and exit service vehicles frequently
Load and unload trucks and trailers
Wear required PPE
Perform pest-control and lighting work safely and efficiently
Driver Requirements
Candidates must:
Possess a valid driver's license
Maintain an acceptable driving record
Be comfortable operating company vehicles
Be able to safely tow or learn to tow company trailers when required
Schedule
This is a full-time, year-round position.
Typical work schedules will vary depending upon season and customer demand.
Because the company operates both pest-control and lighting businesses, work assignments will change throughout the year.
During peak lighting season, additional hours and schedule flexibility may be required.
Some Saturday work may be required based upon customer demand, weather, and seasonal workload.
