- Full-Time Locums OB/GYN Physician in Barstow, CA needed for ongoing, long-term OB hospital call coverage.
- Open dates: 9/1–9/3, 9/17–9/19, and 9/30, with the need expanding to 14–20 locums days/month starting mid-to-late September 2026 and continuing through the holiday season.
- Schedule: 24-hour hospital OB call coverage, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Credentialing: Candidate must be able to credential quick and must have an active California medical license at the time of presentation.
- Required credentials: Active CA DEA (or easily transferable), CSR, and recent inpatient hospital affiliation within the last 2 years. A patient activity log will be required.
- Clinical requirements: Must be comfortable managing OB patients, attending deliveries, and performing C-sections when indicated.
- Patient volume: Approximately 0–2 deliveries/day on average; outpatient volume is about 2–6/day, with many cases manageable by phone.
- Transfers: Approximately 1–2 OB patients/month may require transfer to a higher level of care; physician will assess the patient and communicate with the transfer center.
- EMR: Hospital uses MedHost; Maternal Services uses Centricity.
- Support: 3 nurses per shift with newborn-care competencies and NRP certification, plus an OB Tech and 2 Board-Certified Lactation Consultants. The hospital is Baby Friendly designated.
