Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, full-time Physician Assistant to serve as a float provider between our Old Bridge, Milltown, and Freehold locations. This position is ideal for a confident clinician who enjoys practicing independently in a high-volume urgent care setting.

Providers work primarily as the sole medical provider on shift, supported by experienced clinical staff. Candidates must be comfortable evaluating and managing a broad range of urgent care and occupational medicine presentations across all age groups.

New graduates will not be considered for this position.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating schedule between Old Bridge, Milltown, and Freehold locations
  • Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
  • Perform comprehensive medical assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing
  • Perform procedures including:
    • Laceration repair
    • Incision and drainage
    • Wound management
    • Splinting and orthopedic injury evaluation
  • Provide occupational medicine services, including workers' compensation evaluations
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive health measures
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians according to established protocols

Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license in New Jersey
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing patients independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Proficiency with common urgent care procedures
  • Excellent communication and patient-service skills
  • Ability to travel between assigned AFC locations

Compensation

$72–$85 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
