Overview

Full Stack Engineer (Java) - Location: Remote (Kansas City preferred). Type: Full-time / Direct-Hire.

Looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Angular, Java, Spring Boot) with deep experience in Angular and Java Spring Boot, who’s passionate about building cloud-based, scalable SaaS products. You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to craft responsive, high-performance applications that drive impact across the insurance and benefits industry. This isn’t a “just follow the tickets” type of role — you’ll have real ownership, real creativity, and a real voice in shaping this platform.

You will ship a real product that impacts real users — not just maintenance work. You’ll be part of a collaborative, ambitious team that celebrates wins, you’ll work on a modern tech stack with cutting-edge AWS infrastructure, and have autonomy, mentorship, and room to grow as fast as they can scale.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy beautiful, fast, and scalable web apps using Angular 15+ and Java Spring Boot
• Collaborate with a tight-knit, Agile team to deliver new features in rapid iterations
• Work closely with Product and UX to turn ideas into reality that users love
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code (and yes, they do code reviews!)
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance across the full stack
• Push boundaries, break assumptions, and make a real impact every single sprint

Requirements

• At least 4+ years of experience in full stack software engineering
• 4+ years with Angular (v15 or above) and Java/Spring Boot
• 4+ with SQL-type databases such as PostgreSQL/RDS (querying, table design, optimization, etc.)
• 2+ years with Node.js and Docker
• Solid command of RESTful APIs, development, and integration
• Solid command of Agile development methodologies (Scrum)
• Proficient with Jira and modern version control (Git/GitLab)
• Thrive in a startup environment — agile, resourceful, and ready to build
• Excellent communicator and team player with a “let’s solve it” attitude

Preferred (not required) skills

• Experience with AWS cloud-based platforms (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
• Hands-on experience working at a SaaS company
• Experience with PrimeNG and PrimeBlocks component libraries
• Familiarity with ElasticSearch
• Exposure to the insurance or benefits industry (bonus points!)
• Working knowledge of RxJS
• Certifications or courses in Angular or Cloud technologies
