Software EngineerThe Software Engineer will report to the Solution Delivery Manager. This position will ensure the development of software is done with the highest regard to best practices. The Software Engineer has no supervisory responsibilities, however, it is expected that this role would assist in growing the technical knowledge of less experienced Engineers on the team.
4+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer.Responsibilities:Develop major enhancements to existing or new products related to applications.Work with stakeholders to form a software architecture to implement features satisfying business goals.Troubleshoot and fix immediate end user needs. Utilize diagnostic skills to find and resolve the underlying causes of issues with the software product and its intended functionality. Discover intelligent workarounds where a full fix is not feasible.Research solutions by providing alternatives for product development needs.
Actively research solutions for developing new products and refactoring and supporting existing software.Manage and engage in compliance and regulatory-related tasks, as needed. Develop software using security best practices.Actively participate in developing estimates, code reviews, further analysis of business needs, and review architecture decisions.Mentoring and training other developers within the organization.Actively participate in continuous improvement and collaborate cross functionally and cross-center to further generate ideas and knowledge sharing.Skill and Knowledge Requirements:• In depth experience with Amazon Web Service serverless technologies like Lambda, Aurora, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS.• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Serverless framework• Strong familiarity with a modern component based front end framework such as Angular, React or Vue• Experience using Typescript on the front end and backend using NodeJS.• Knowledge of best practices for Cloud based development• Experience with developing REST services (primarily using Node.JS)• Experience with Continuous Integration pipelines and the technologies that go along with it such as, a unit testing framework, a code linter, and test buildNeed to have: React, Javascript, AWS skills, APIs are a plus to have. Disciplined in approach, but flexible/interested in learning other systems.
