ABOUT KRYPTEK

Kryptek LLC builds governed AI systems for clients operating under regulatory obligation. The work this role supports is agentic compliance monitoring at scale: pipelines that ingest public and client-furnished data, validate it against regulatory requirements using deterministic rules, detect drift over time, and assemble evidence packages a reviewer can defend months after the fact. The agentic layer drafts narratives, clusters findings to root cause, and reconciles conflicting sources. It never renders a determination. Every finding passes a recorded human review gate before it can leave the system. The platform runs on Amazon Bedrock inside AWS GovCloud (US) and is engineered to carry a federal Authority to Operate.

Kryptek also delivers managed detection and response, cloud security, and Zero Trust engineering on Microsoft Sentinel and Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM. We are a small, senior team, and the people we hire own their scope end to end rather than executing someone else's ticket queue.

YOUR CAREER

You build every interface a reviewer touches, and ensure they are 508 conformant. Accessibility here is a contractual acceptance criterion rather than a polish pass at the end, and remediation of anything found non-conformant after delivery is at our expense. That is precisely why this role exists as a named seat rather than being folded into general front-end work. We are not looking for a front-end engineer who is willing to learn accessibility. We are looking for someone who already builds this way and can explain how they verify it.

YOUR IMPACT

- Build the monitoring coverage dashboard showing population status, ingestion cycles, availability, and freshness
- Build the triage work queue, including reviewer identity capture, disposition capture, and enforcement of the state machine that prevents a case advancing to an exportable state without a recorded human review
- Build the evidence case viewer surfacing raw and normalized artifacts, validation output, HTTP metadata, hashes, rule traceability, and the drafted narrative
- Build the drift visualization across observation cycles and entity identity over time, plus the remediation drafting and retest comparison views
- Build exportable reports in both machine-readable and human-readable accessible formats
- Conform every delivered interface to the Revised 508 Standards at 36 CFR 1194.1 Appendices A, B, and C and to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and conform PDF output to PDF/UA (ISO 14289-1)
- Write accessibility acceptance criteria into every interface story, wire automated accessibility testing into continuous integration so the build fails on violations, and run manual keyboard-only and screen reader testing every sprint
- Produce the Accessibility Conformance Report or the applicable agency conformance checklist at the first interface release milestone, at each subsequent release, and with the final release package
- Make accessible data visualization work, which means charts, tables, and drift views that are usable without color and without a mouse

YOUR EXPERIENCE

- 5 or more years of full-stack engineering with genuine front-end depth
- Demonstrated Revised 508 Standards and WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance work on shipped software. Expect to walk us through a specific interface you made conformant and exactly how you verified it
- Screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver, and keyboard-only navigation testing as a habit rather than an audit event
- Automated accessibility testing in continuous integration using axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse CI, or equivalent, configured to fail a build
- Accessible data visualization, including charts and dense tables that carry meaning without relying on color
- Accessible document generation, ideally PDF/UA tagged output
- React or an equivalent component framework, plus a backend language you are comfortable owning
- Having authored a VPAT or an Accessibility Conformance Report previously is strongly preferred
- Relevant bachelor's degree, equivalent military experience, or equivalent professional experience
- United States citizenship is required. No security clearance is required for this role at present

COMPENSATION AND ENGAGEMENT TERMS

Rate. $75 to $90 per hour, paid as an independent contractor engagement. Placement within the range depends on depth of demonstrated Section 508 and WCAG conformance work.

This position is contingent on program start. Kryptek has committed to seating every open role within 30 days of go-ahead.
