Job Summary
The Front-End Development Team Lead plays a critical role in managing and guiding the Front-End Development team to deliver high-quality software solutions. This role is responsible for creating, organizing, and implementing processes to ensure efficient team performance. The Team Lead will design and implement front-end architecture, maintain coding standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business requirements. As a mentor and leader, the Front-End Team Lead will foster team development while contributing directly to the design and delivery of robust, scalable, and user-friendly front-end solutions for Mercans’ cloud-based Payroll, HR, and Recruitment software.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Team Management and Leadership:
Plan and manage the workload of the Front-End Development team, assigning tasks effectively.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations to team members.
Define team goals and monitor progress, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Participate in recruitment and onboarding processes for new team members.
Strategically manage team resources, structure, and workflow.
Development and Delivery:
Design and implement engineering, architecture, and coding standards to streamline development processes.
Write clean, maintainable, and secure code for front-end applications.
Contribute to the timely delivery of critical projects while ensuring high-quality output.
Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize front-end solutions and infrastructure.
Collaboration and Communication:
Coordinate communication between Front-End and other teams (e.g., Back-End, UX/UI Design) to ensure smooth collaboration.
Collaborate with back-end developers and designers to improve overall system usability.
Conduct code reviews and share best practices within the team.
Work closely with the project team to translate business requirements into feasible technical solutions.
Innovation and Efficiency:
Automate processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into front-end development when appropriate.
Contribute to team and company goals by innovating and aligning with strategic objectives.
Documentation and Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices in all solutions.
Develop and maintain professional technical documentation for internal and external use.
Manage the full lifecycle of HRB system interfaces and integrations with client-specific applications.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of experience in front-end development with TypeScript/JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
3+ years of experience in SPA development using frameworks like Vue.js.
Proven track record of leading teams of 4-5 engineers for 2+ years.
Experience with relational (MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker).
Proficiency in building components based on complex APIs.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab) and monitoring/alerting tools.
Strong SQL skills and knowledge of event-driven architecture and queues.
Proficiency in test-driven development.
Nice to Have:
Proficiency with Kubernetes.
Experience in automating solutions within HR or Finance domains.
Familiarity with OpenShift or similar containerization platforms.
Performance Goals:
Reduce Code Defects by 30%
