Front Server

Silver Dove Afternoon Tea is looking to hire a full time front server. We are a small team and rarely have full-time front of house positions available, so dedication and fit with the team is crucial. Saturday and Sunday availability is required.
Front servers at Silver Dove Afternoon Tea are responsible for providing exceptional hospitality, managing food allergies, taking orders, making teas, clearing and re-setting tables, running food and drink, doing prep for cocktails and tea blends, and other side work where needed.
As part of the training process, new front servers are expected to work as back servers for several weeks to familiarize themselves with our steps of service.

Skills and experience: 

• At least one year of full service restaurant experience is required.
• Ability to use a one-handed tray is required.
• Ability to carry multiple plates is required.
• Knowledge of common food allergies is required.
• Experience with Toast POS preferred.
• Tea & cocktail knowledge preferred.

Hours: 

• Server shifts are roughly 10:30AM-7:30PM
• Saturday and Sunday availability required
• We are closed on major holidays, but December is our busiest month, so availability around the holidays is required

Compensation: 

• $30/hr
• We are a non-tipping establishment, so $30/hr is the total compensation for this position
• We will cover 50% of the cost of a monthly bus/subway pass for interested employees after 30 days of employment

Silver Dove Afternoon Tea is a restaurant specializing in English style afternoon tea service. Think scones, finger sandwiches, and tiny cakes, paired with loose leaf teas and cocktails. Opened in early 2023, we are an independently owned and operated business. This is our only location.  We were listed as one of OpenTable's top 100 restaurants in the US for 2024, OpenTable Diner's Choice 2026, as well as Best Afternoon Tea in Boston Magazine's Best of Boston.
