French to English OPI/VRI Remote Interpreters (US Based) (Remote) at Kalamcx

We are hiring French‑English Over‑the‑Phone Interpreters (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreters (VRI) at Future Group Translation and Localization Services.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls in a professional manner, following the Interpreter’s code of conduct.
• Take notes during a call as needed.
• Use industry‑specific terminology, especially in healthcare and medical contexts.
• Render all messages accurately and completely, without adding, omitting, or substituting content.
• Provide the highest level of customer service during interpreting.
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients and speakers by delivering accurate interpretation.
• Apply standard practices and attend internal professional training.
• Pursue new professional certifications.
• Communicate and report to your team leader.
• Comply with dress‑code requirements for video remote interpreting.

Qualifications

• Native French speaker with fluent English proficiency.
• Minimum 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable company.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology.
• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.
• International certifications in healthcare (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are a plus.
• High school diploma in your native language.
• High emotional intelligence and tolerance for different cultures.
• Strong communication, listening, note‑taking, and memory retention skills.

Technical Requirements

• Dedicated high‑speed private internet connection: minimum download 20Mbps, upload 10Mbps.
• Wired Ethernet connection (Wi‑Fi not allowed).
• Windows10 operating system.
• Computer with dual‑core 2GHz processor (Intel Corei5 or superior).
• Minimum 8GB RAM.
• Single device (computer or laptop) with no external devices.
• No external monitors or connectors unless applicable.
• Operating system set to “High Performance” mode.
• Power adapter plugged in, not battery‑powered.
• No Chromebook.
• Noise‑cancelling wired headset with built‑in microphone (no Bluetooth or wireless).
