Freight Forwarder Ocean ImportLancasterNearest Major Market: Dallas Nearest Secondary Market: Fort WorthA Freight Forwarder Ocean Import is responsible for managing the importation of goods by ocean, including all aspects of the logistics process such as customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, and delivery to the final destination. This role involves coordinating with various parties including carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destinationCoordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goodsTrack shipments and provide updates to customers as neededPrepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperworkEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade lawsManage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer serviceEducational Background / Work ExperiencePrior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Experience in ocean imports is highly desirable.Skills & CompetenciesMathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / ProcessesKnowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations. Understanding of trade laws and regulations.Language SkillsFluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.Computer LiteracyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
