Source Inspector - Machined Parts
Position: On-Site Source Inspector
Industry: Aerospace - Supplier
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform source inspection of precision machined components at supplier facilities before shipment.
- Review engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspections per AS9102 requirements.
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM reports, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, quality requirements, and purchase order specifications.
- Review material certificates, process certifications, CoC, and inspection records for traceability.
- Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs) and verify corrective actions.
- Approve or reject parts for shipment and prepare detailed source inspection reports.
- Coordinate with supplier quality, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
