Foundry WorkerDuration: 06 months contractShift Duration: 03:00 am to 03:00 pmLocation: Tulsa OK 74131Pay Rate: $18.00/hr. on W2Education: Minimum high school diploma or GEDTemp to hire $16.00 to $18.00/hour once hired fulltime $19.50/hourCurrent hours are 3AM - 3PM, Monday thru Friday, Saturday voluntaryPreferred Skillset: Foundry experience, experience with green sand molding process, experience grinding and blasting castingsFoundry Workers perform a combination of tasks which includes melting metals and pouring them into molds, and are responsible for cleaning and assembling molds for the foundry.Primary duties and responsibilities:Core making - forming the internal surface of a castingMold making - forming the external surface of a castingMold closing - joins the core to the mold; joins the mold halvesMelting - prepares molten metal from scrap steel and/or raw materials; adjust chemistry; adjust the temperaturePouring - forms a casting by transferring molten metal into the mold cavityShakeout - removes core and mold sand from the surface of casting; reclaims the sandCasting Cleaning - removes gates, risers, fins, and other protrusions from the surface of casting; repair inclusions on surface of casting; abrasive blasting of casting surfaces; inspection of casting surfacesJob requirements:General knowledge of industrial applications in a manufacturing settingGeneral knowledge of safety rules and regulationsDemonstrated ability to work with othersExperience qualifications:1+ years’ experience in 2 or more of the following: pattern shop/storage; core making; molding making; mold closing; induction melting; pouring; shakeout; abrasive blasting; gating & riser removal; grinding; casting inspection and touch-up preferred1+ years’ experience operating forklift; overhead crane; frontend loader preferredPhysical/non-physical requirements:While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, stand, bend, stoop, or reach with hand and armsOccasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee is required to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and have corrected vision to 20/20While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to moving vehicles, overhead cranes, extreme ambient temperatures, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particulatesThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisyThe employee is required to wear appropriate PPE to include but not exclusively limited to a hard hat, face mask, gloves, and steel-toed boots
