Foundry Machine OperatorWieland is hiring a Foundry Machine Operator. The Foundry Machine Operator is responsible for supporting machine shop and foundry operations by operating production equipment, performing casting and material processing activities, and producing quality products in accordance with established specifications and safety standards. This role supports efficient manufacturing operations through adherence to quality requirements, safe work practices, and by assisting with warehouse and other production activities as needed to meet business objectives.This role is located in Kilgore, TX and will be fully on-site.Starting Pay: $19.00 - $20.00Schedule: 6AM – 4PM; Monday – Thursday; Friday if neededPay Schedule: Bi-WeeklyResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environmentResponsible for the set-up, process, and maintenance of Turret LatheTake rough castings from the foundry and process with machineryOperate machinery in a safe manner to ensure quality productInspect material before and after operation for imperfectionsLoad and unload product from the machinery for processingOperate and handle melting / holding equipmentPerform quality inspections, including visualAssemble, rebuild, set up, maintain, and operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, hand tools, etc.Inspect inventory and product orders for accuracyReport on product discrepancies to managementPerform all applicable SOP's, JSA's, and QAP'sActively communicate with teammatesOperate forklifts to move materialOther Operations tasks, as assignedQualificationsAbility to prioritize multiple projects and deadlinesStrong attention to detail (critical skill)Ability to read, write, and communicate in EnglishAbility to communicate professionally with coworkers and managementAbility to work as part of a team and help teammates when necessaryAbility to work occasional Saturday hours as required by the positionAbility to work in warehouse environment with varying temperaturesAbility to read dimensioned engineering drawingsAbility to read a tape measure and calipersHigh School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)Understanding of manufacturing industries (preferred)Experience in foundry/casting industry (preferred)Physical DemandsOccasionally lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Remain in a standing and/or walking position for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.Frequently bend, twist, stoop, reach, and perform other movements required to complete assigned duties.Perform work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production schedules and deadlines.Reliably distinguish colors when required to safely perform essential job duties.Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks.Work in areas where electromagnetic fields may be present.
