Kale is building a computer for kids ages 6 to 12. A computer, not a companion. No feeds, nothing built to be addictive. 300+ families have signed up ahead of our launch in early 2027.

What you'll own

• The founding-family program end to end: recruiting, onboarding, check-ins, parent interviews, and a weekly written synthesis the founders act on.
• The parent community and @KaleComputer, where we build in public.
• Acquisition experiments you run solo: landing pages, pricing tests, ads, waitlist conversion.
• The floor at family events, starting with New Kid Days SF on October 24: demos, observation, enrolling families on the spot.

Who you are

• Scrappy and iterative. You live in the replies, and you change the question mid-week when parents answer a different one.
• Technical enough to ship a landing page and read the numbers without help.
• You like talking with parents and kids, in person and online.
• You write clearly and fast.

What this is not

Corporate comms, brand strategy decks, or broadcast-only marketing. This is a maker role.

How the trial is judged

Written in advance: engaged parents on our open product questions, waitlist conversion, and the next founding-family cohort filled. Not follower counts.

Details

Remote friendly, San Francisco preferred. Expect travel for family events and in-person time with the team. $140k to $200k base plus founding-team equity. We make offers at a few cash and equity mixes and you choose.

How we hire

• Intro call with Max, 30 minutes. Your story, what you grew, what you'd try first here.
• Conversation with Tim, our CTO, 30 minutes.
• A one-month paid contract on real work. The goals are written down before you start.
• Two days in person with the team in San Francisco. We cover travel.
• References, then a full-time offer.
