Harvey is hiring a Forward Deployed Finance Engineer (Buyout) to lead pilots, demos, and custom implementations of Harvey Deals for buyout funds, translating live deal workflows into AI-driven, repeatable solutions and shaping product roadmap for investment teams.

Job Description

Role

Harvey is hiring the first Finance Engineer dedicated to buyout to build the buyout playbook (demo library, workflow templates, use cases) and run live pilots. The role partners with Account Executives and Customer Success to design, build, and deploy Harvey Deals workflows for middle-market and lower-middle-market buyout funds, sector specialists, and serial acquirers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, demos, pilots, trainings, onboarding, and custom builds alongside AEs and CSMs.
• Translate real investment work (screening, underwriting, diligence, committee materials) into Harvey solutions that use firm templates and traceable figures.
• Run pilots on live opportunities and guide deal teams through AI-enabled workflows for screening, underwriting, diligence, and investment committee deliverables.
• Build repeatable playbooks: demo library, workflow templates, and buyout-specific use cases.
• Capture deal-team feedback and partner with product to shape the Harvey roadmap.
• Support post-close activities including portfolio monitoring, add-on pipeline tracking, and valuation support.

Requirements

• 3+ years on the investment team at a buyout fund (middle-market or lower-middle-market) or equivalent growth-buyout/sector-specialist experience, with principal-side deal execution experience required.
• Demonstrated ownership of live deal work: screening, underwriting, diligence workstreams, modeling, and drafting investment committee materials.
• Deep familiarity with CIMs, management presentations, QoE and data packs, banker and operating models, LBO and returns analysis, purchase agreements, and financing terms.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; comfort with prompting and agentic AI workflows; builder’s instinct for automating repeated manual work. Python, SQL, or internal tools experience is a plus.
• Strong executive presence, relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable leading live demos and workshops.
• Customer-facing experience and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset with a bias toward action.

Compensation

$254,600 - $381,800 USD OTE (75/25)

Travel

Expect travel approximately 2-3+ times per month, typically 1-3 days per trip.
