Forklift OperatorThe Forklift Operator safely and efficiently moves, stores, loads, and unloads products, packaging materials, and warehouse inventory throughout the facility. This role supports production and shipping operations by ensuring materials and products are accurately handled, properly racked, and delivered on time while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.ResponsibilitiesOperate stand-up and sit-down forklifts, including stand-up reach trucks, to move pallets, bags, and large shipping bins throughout the warehouse and cold storage areas.Lift and place pallets and bags up to approximately 40 feet high in racking systems, ensuring stable and secure placement.Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently, following all site procedures and safety guidelines.Support shipping and receiving operations by staging, organizing, and moving products and materials as required.Perform inventory-related tasks such as cycle counts and stock checks using RF scanners and warehouse systems.Handle products, packaging materials, and warehouse inventory accurately to minimize damage and ensure correct placement in racks and storage locations.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including racking zones, loading docks, and staging areas.Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of steel-toe boots and other required personal protective equipment.Adapt to different work locations within the facility as needed, including training at one site and working at another plant.Communicate effectively with shipping, receiving, and production teams to coordinate material flow and resolve issues.Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or inventory discrepancies promptly to the appropriate personnel.Proven forklift experience with both stand-up and sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or shipping environment.Hands-on experience operating a stand-up reach forklift, including lifting pallets and bags into high racking up to approximately 40 feet.Demonstrated experience working with pallets, large shipping bins, and racking systems.Shipping and receiving experience, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.Experience with inventory processes such as cycle counts and stock checks.Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory tracking and material movement.Comfort working around strong food-related odors, including peppers and garlic, and awareness that these products can feel spicy or hot.Ability to follow safety procedures and operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.Valid forklift certification is a MUST.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shafter, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.25 - $21.75/hr.
