Forklift Operator/ Material Handling (3rd shift, 11pm - 7:30am)

Support production control activities related to successful manufacturing operations, while following policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Accountability:

  • Responsible for verifying labels on containers and matching the description on packing slips
  • Support new Mazda J34a, possibly as a water spider
  • Support shipping and receiving systems
  • Inspect shipments, load and unload trucks
  • Maintain the flow of materials to all areas of manufacturing efficiently while working in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Forklift, walkie stacker and tugger experience is preferred
  • Able to frequently lift
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving systems
  • Prior material handling experience and knowledge
  • Flexible working hours, ability to work overtime (which may include weekends and holidays) as needed per business need
  • Proficient English communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow standard work, work within a team and support company policies, including but not limited to regular and punctual attendance, safety and ergonomics
  • Ability to learn, operate and maintain various equipment at an acceptable level with emphasis on quality (IATF 16949 standard), safety and environment (ISO and 45001), 5S and productivity

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work shift as assigned and overtime is required, as needed
  • Will be required to do the following throughout the shift: standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulders, moving left to right repetitively, grasping, and fine finger dexterity
  • May be required to lift during shift up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields
