The Forklift Operator supports the packaging and warehouse departments by moving materials from the packaging floor to the warehouse, logging product into the computerized inventory and re-stocking materials on the packaging floor and assists with monthly inventory counts.
Operate forklifts: Safely drive and maneuver forklifts to transfer finished pallets from production areas to warehouse storage.
Load and unload pallets: Utilize slip sheet systems and associated equipment to handle palletized and non-palletized freight while minimizing product damage and maximizing warehouse efficiency.
Support production and warehouse teams by keeping pallets moving and minimizing bottlenecks.
Inspect equipment: Perform daily checks on forklifts to ensure safe operation; Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe driving practices.
Inventory support: Assist with pallet counts, product tracking, and warehouse organization.
Forklift Experience, 6 months or more of solid experience, preferred
Must be able to speak and understand English well enough to follow instructions, read basic work documents, and communicate with team members on the production floor and other departments. Must also be able to write clearly enough to record basic information on quality checks and GMP forms.
RF Scanner or computerized inventory system experience, preferred
Ability to count and assist with monthly inventory
Understand and follow safety rules in facility
Physical Environment: The position is based in a production environment where temperatures may fluctuate, with exposure to warmer areas during roasting and cooler environments in other parts of the facility.
Noise Levels: The facility can be noisy due to machinery and equipment operation. Employees will be required to stand for extended periods, frequently lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally handle larger boxes (up to 60 pounds) with assistance. PPE Requirements: All employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and hairnets or other protective headgear, as necessary.
Shift Work: The role may require rotating shifts, evening shifts, and weekend work based on production needs. Work Pace: The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and product quality.
