Position Title: Forklift Operator
Wage: $18.25/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Forklift Operator for a company in Darien, WI. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.
Forklift Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate a variety of forklifts (stand-up, sit-down, or order pickers) to move and stack materials, products, and pallets within the shipping and warehouse areas
- Load and unload goods onto trucks and shipping containers, ensuring products are properly secured for transport; verify shipping documents and ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse inventory by transporting goods to designated locations and rotating stock to ensure accurate inventory levels
- Pick orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring the correct products are selected for shipment based on customer orders
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating the forklift and handling materials; conduct daily safety checks on equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damages, quality issues, and discrepancies; report any problems to the shipping supervisor for resolution
- Safely transport raw materials, finished goods, and packaging materials to designated areas within the facility
- Complete and maintain necessary paperwork, including shipment logs, inventory records, and safety reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards
- Work closely with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following housekeeping standards and ensuring safe access to all materials
Forklift Operator Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous forklift operating experience (1+ years preferred)
- Experience operating sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker, or pallet jack equipment
- Ability to safely load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents, labels, and work instructions
- Basic math and inventory counting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to assist with general labor duties
- Able to withstand a hot environment
- Some industrial experience is preferred
- Understand verbal and written instructions given by supervisor in English
- Basic math skills
- Able to read and understand a blueprint to measure parts for accuracy
- Must wear steel-toed boots
