Forklift Operator

Responsibilities

• Safely operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to pick orders accurately within the warehouse.
• Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
• Manage order picking tasks efficiently by locating and retrieving items from designated storage locations.
• Assist with shipping and receiving operations, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control through warehouse management systems.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, minor repairs, and maintenance to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
• Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for shipment or storage while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety practices, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Experience

• Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts (including Hi-Lo), clamp trucks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Prior experience in order picking, shipping & receiving, or materials handling within a distribution center or warehouse environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and heavy equipment use.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy.
• Warehouse experience involving heavy lifting, load & unload activities, and the use of pallet jacks or lift trucks is highly preferred.
