Position Summary
A forklift driver (often called a Warehouse Associate or Forklift Operator) is responsible for operating material-handling equipment to support daily warehouse operations such as shipping, receiving, and inventory movement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to:
    • Load and unload trucks
    • Move, stack, and stage products
    • Pick and replenish inventory
  • Use RF scanners and warehouse systems to track inventory
  • Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with:
    • Labeling, packing, and repacking goods
    • Inventory counts and stock rotation
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months of warehouse or logistics experience
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain one)
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of forklift or warehouse experience
  • Experience with reach trucks, pallet jacks, or similar equipment
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
Skills & Abilities
  • Basic computer and scanner skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills for counting and inventory
  • Good communication (English reading/writing/speaking)
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs
  • Work in warehouse conditions (can vary in temperature)
Work Environment
  • Warehouse/distribution setting
  • Moderate noise levels
  • Emphasis on safety and efficiency
