Key Responsibilities
As a Forklift Driver, you will:
- Safely operate a forklift in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Receive incoming materials from vendors and perform inbound quality inspections.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Stage materials required for the next day's production schedule.
- Deliver materials to production departments as needed to support manufacturing operations.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Complete daily scheduled and unscheduled warehouse work assignments.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and preventive maintenance checks according to company standards.
- Empty trash and grinder bins throughout the facility according to established schedules.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Serve as a backup to the Warehouse Lead when needed.
- Lead by example by following attendance policies, PPE requirements, safety procedures, and company standards.
- Complete required documentation and data entry tasks accurately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Lead or leadership team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to complete written documentation and data entry tasks accurately.
- Ability to distinguish between different types, textures, and colors of wood materials.
- Ability to identify and distinguish between various laminate colors and finishes.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read and use a measuring tape.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet daily goals and production demands.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous forklift operation experience preferred.
- Warehouse, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Forklift certification is preferred; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators, may be required in designated areas.
