Material Handler I

The Material Handler I position is an entry-level role responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials within the facility. This position ensures the accurate receipt, storage, and delivery of materials to designated locations. Material Handler I assist with the daily operations of the shop by moving, organizing, and maintaining materials in support of production needs.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload materials from trucks and transport them within the facility.
• Organize and stack materials in assigned locations.
• Maintain clear labeling and organization of materials.
• Report materials moved to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Adhere to company safety standards and report unsafe conditions.
• Deliver necessary materials to various workstations.
• Ensure materials are labeled and stored properly to avoid safety risks.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of a diploma or GED.
• No prior experience is required, though experience in manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret written instructions such as production schedules.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to ensure safe coordination with colleagues.

Physical:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to routinely bend, squat, walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand or walk for long periods of time.
