Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Forge Operator/Utility to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will operate and maintain various forging and machining equipment, ensuring the production of high-quality metal components. Responsibilities
* Operate forging equipment including hammers, mechanical presses, hydraulic presses, and furnaces.
* Heat steel billets to proper forging temperatures and maintain awareness of furnace conditions.
* Assist with die setup, tool changes, and preparing materials for each production run.
* Use tongs, tools, and proper PPE to handle hot steel safely
* Perform in-process inspections to check shape, dimensions, and quality of forged parts
* Remove scale and perform basic trimming or shearing operations as needed
* Maintain forging equipment through basic cleaning and lubrication, report mechanical issues promptly.
Requirements
* High School diploma or GED
* Experience in steel forging, heavy manufacturing, or hot metal environments (preferred but willing to train)
* Ability to work in extreme heat and cold conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs. safely
* Basic math and measurement skills
* Strong safety mindset and ability to follow PPE requirements
* Cross training in other departments
