Forge Operator

Forge OperatorWe are seeking a skilled Forge Operator for our 1st Shift, working from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The role involves setting up and operating a forge press, managing dies, and ensuring the alignment and inspection of forged parts.ResponsibilitiesSetup and operate forge press, including changing back plates and shims per setup sheet.Adjust ram as needed.Retrieve dies from pre-heat bench.Operate forklift.Use tongs to pick up and place hot billets into die.Visually inspect for billet color and heat alignment.Align billets into dies and inspect forged parts to print using instruments.Setup and operate trim press and furnace as needed.Perform press preventative maintenance as needed.Maintain 5S condition of the Forge department and immediate work areas.Apply Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methods to improve work processes.Observe and apply department and company safety policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.Essential Skills2-3 years of forging or press operating experience.Ability to read blueprints or work instructions.Capability to work in a hot environment (Forge).Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with punch press, machine operation, and metal stamping.Familiarity with production and inspection processes.Why Work Here?Join a top-rated workplace known for its strong safety record and high employee tenure. The facility promotes safety and comfort, ensuring a productive workplace.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Twinsburg, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
