Mechanical General ForemanA Mechanical General Foreman will manage multiple crews in installing, assembling, dismantling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery for an industrial new construction plant. They will work on the construction of machinery involved in industrial construction.ResponsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:Supervises and coordinates the Foreman and activity with craft workers to ensure that work is done safely, correctly and in a timely mannerUse knowledge and understanding of the technical installation requirements for the work under his/her supervision, to include drawings, specifications, procedures, and codesFollows direction from supervisorOther duties as assignedQualification HighlightsMust have at least 5 years of experience as a Foreman.Must be able to Supervisor Multiple CraftsLead Safety Meeting/Toolbox MeetingPerform AuditsManage Quality ControlManage TimesheetsGood Communication SkillsAddress issues with solutionsMust have experience with industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance of various machines and equipment.Must know how to read blueprints, schematic drawings and engineering specificationsMust understand how to read and interpret technical manuals in order to determine work proceduresMust have experience using industrial hand tools and power toolsMust have all Journeyman Precision Millwright hand tools – tool list to be providedMinimum 4-5 years industrial construction/maintenance experienceMust have reliable transportation and be able to work 7 days as neededPosition ResponsibilitiesWorks with industry-specific and high complex precision machines including but not limited to ball mills, ID fans, lube coil skids, turbines, conveyors, generators, hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, compressors, etc.Will plan, inspect, verify and document scope of workUses precision leveling and alignment tools in order to measure angles, material thickness and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, optical instruments and other tools.Will fit bearings, align gears and wheels, attach motors and connect belts according to manufacturer's blueprints and drawingsWill dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand toolsAssembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram railsAssembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets and fastens machinery to foundations or other structures using hand tools and power tools.Operates engine lathes, grinders, and files.May construct foundations for machineryFabricates and installs parts, equipment and machinery by measuring, cutting, drilling and/or weldingTurns machine parts to dimensional specificationsWill unload, inspect, move and set equipment into position using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers and trucksUses rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls and come along to move equipment / materials into placeConducts preventative maintenance such as lubrication and fixing or repairing worn parts.Follows direction from supervisorOther duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experienceKnowledge of hand tools, power tools and layout tools such as lasers, ultrasonic measuring and alignment tools, plumb bobs, cutting torches, welding machines, hydraulic torch wrenches, hydraulic stud tensioners, soldering guns and metal working equipment that includes lathes and grinding machines.Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipmentUnderstand load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, and chainsDemonstrated ability to use certified hand signalsOrganization and time managementGood problem-solving abilitiesGood aptitude and manual dexterityKnowledge of math concepts, geometry, and layoutDemonstrated ability to lead others and provide detailed instructionsGood reading comprehensionAbility to work with others – team playerAbility to work independently – minimal supervisionGood communication skills with co-workers and supervisorsCommitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulationsPhysical RequirementsEmployees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.Will talk and hear to communicate.Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/ spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.Valued but not required skills, knowledge, and abilities:Former Zachry employeeFormal education/degree/certificate in construction, technical or trade school such as NCCER CertificationBasic Computer proficiencyZACHRY provides a Safe and Drug-Free work environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
