Food Service Director (FSD)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service/Kitchen Manager to join our team at the West Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Haven, Connecticut. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of care and services to our residents. Our team is committed to providing warm, compassionate short-term rehabilitation and nursing care to members of the West Haven community and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Manage a diverse team of food service staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food preparation
• Develop and implement menus, ordering supplies and food products, and managing budgets to meet the dietary needs of our residents
• Collaborate with our leadership team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents
• Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of food safety and quality
• Maintain accurate records and reports, including inventory management and budget tracking
• Develop and maintain effective communication with internal departments, including housekeeping, dietary, and administration

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Certificate in food service management or related field
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and stakeholders
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to food service and sanitation
