ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Food & Beverage Supervisor at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Responsibilities
- Interview, train, and evaluate all F&B captains, servers, bartenders, and concessions personnel.
- Supervise part‑time, contracted, and guest staff in concessions and catering areas.
- Assist in maintaining budgeted goals, ordering products, and keeping proper par levels.
- Maintain equipment through proper cleaning and scheduled maintenance.
- Follow cash handling procedures.
- Fulfill service requirements for each Banquet Event Order (BEO).
- Maintain inventory control procedures.
- Design food service areas, concession signage, and displays creatively.
- Ensure detail and consistency across all service areas.
- Work hands‑on with staff and customers.
- Review and work with staff to execute all F&B operations through banquet event orders and contractual obligations such as services, equipment orders, consumption reports, and special orders.
- Monitor in‑house events, maintain close contact with clients and facility staff, and address all client requests, concerns, and problems.
- Attend planning, organization, event, and facility meetings to support food and beverage elements.
- Direct staff on proper cleaning techniques to pass health inspections by state/local agencies and ASM Global guidelines.
- Act as Department Manager and/or Manager on Duty for events (banquets, backstage catering, concessions, and other activities).
- Conduct monthly inventory and maintain labor cost.
- Supervise all hourly F&B staff (100+ employees).
- Train concessions, bartending, and banquet staff.
Qualifications
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong customer service orientation and team‑player mindset.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Consistent attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
- Must possess or obtain within an allotted time a Shreveport ABO Card, Louisiana Responsible Vendor Permit (LACT), and be Serv‑Safe Certified.
- Must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license.
- Minimum of two years of Food & Beverage management experience.
- Catering management experience required.
- Experience in a multi‑purpose entertainment facility preferred.
- Proven track record of exceeding customer service and quality standards.
- Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with ADP preferred; Excel/Word required.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts; flexible schedule required.
- Must stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, and talk and hear; may work inside or outside the building with extreme temperature variations.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff, including management.
- Travel to events as needed.
