(REI) Business ManagerType of position: Non-exempt/HourlyEmployee Classification: SeasonalCompensation: $23.00/hourlyJob Summary:The Food and Beverage Supervisor will be responsible for managing all food and beverage production aspects in coordination with the Production Food and Beverage Supervisor, the local Production Manager, and the local Front of House Manager. They will serve as the on-site direct contact and will be responsible for professional communication with third-party vendors, railroad staff, event employees and passengers. The Food and Beverage Supervisor provides leadership and support to their team, coordinates onboard inventory with production staff, ensures quality control of product, and manages daily operations to deliver a seamless passenger experience. The Food and Beverage Supervisor will carry out responsibilities with a strong sense of urgency, work well under pressure, demonstrate excellent multitasking abilities, and consistently maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Become familiar with and maintain the REP Food and Beverage equipmentParticipate in the load in and load out process of the food and beverage areaManage daily staff duties, executing inventory controls including replenishing, stockroom controls and receivingResponsible for becoming familiar with and enforcing local and state health regulationsOversee daily fast paced operations including all opening/closing processes while ensuring 100% compliance with Rail Event Productions Food and Beverage event standardsEnsure the product meets REP quality standardsWork with local third-party vendors and Front of House Manager to coordinates cast, crew, and staff catered mealsAssist FOH Manager by ensuring the Retail or F&B staff take their proper breaksOversee the cleanliness, organization and maintenance of the food and beverage areaMaintain strict cleanliness, meet all safety protocols and show ready product standards set by the Production Food and Beverage SupervisorLead staff training, inspire a high performing staff to deliver exceptional work, and manage employee performance and morale in a temporary and at times high-paced environmentResponsible for daily inventory of Food and Beverage amenities and products.Maintain communication with the Production Food and Beverage Supervisor throughout the seasonOther duties as assignedQualificationsCollaborative team player who is organized, reliable, detail oriented and a strong problem solverExperience in food service, catering and special eventsPrior experience and a working knowledge of point-of-sales systems are a plusAbility to solve problems in real time, in a live performance environmentProven ability to work alongside and provide leadership for the event staff CandidateAbility to communicate effectively orally and in written formsPossess strong self-motivation and thrives while working independently under remote managementBe physically capable of lifting heavy objectsWork Environment:Majority of time is spent in an indoor settingVarying temperatures and weather conditions; both indoor and outdoorVaried schedule requiring evenings, weekends, and overtimeAble to stand and walk on uneven or unsteady surfaces aboard a moving trainWorkday is spent in and around active railroad yard(s)What’s in it for you?Serve others and create a world of make believe and magicGreat industry pay and a chance to build upon your theater network and make lifelong connectionsEnrich and positively impact the experience for all – big and smallBe part of an inclusive team in a supportive environment with high expectations for self and your fellow teammatesCatered meals for 5-show daysComp tickets for your friends and familyWorking on THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride is unlike anything you will ever do.
