To enhance coding efficiency and compliance, the full-time Florida Licensed Physician Coding Specialist will perform internal audits, analyze coding trends, and provide educational support to physicians and coding teams in a hybrid role based in St. Petersburg, FL. Key responsibilities: Conduct internal audits and analyze professional coding for all service lines to identify inaccuracies and provide necessary support Develop and present educational programs for physicians and coding staff to improve coding practices and documentation accuracy Collaborate with the Physician and Professional Services Central Business Office to ensure compliance with payor guidelines and optimize coding accuracy Required qualifications: Associate degree required, or five years of directly related work experience in lieu of a degree Must maintain one of the following certifications: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CMC, or CPMA Five to six years of professional coding experience, including office, inpatient, and surgical coding Proficient in CPT-4, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and HCPCS coding principles, with a coding skills test result of 90% or better Strong knowledge of medical terminology and experience with Electronic Medical Records
