To ensure the accuracy of medical record coding and DRG assignment, the full-time Florida Licensed Lead Coding Specialist will conduct audits, provide training, and serve as a coding resource while working remotely. Key responsibilities Conduct regular monitoring and audits of medical record coding and DRG assignments Train new employees in coding procedures and provide supervisory feedback on performance Consult with physicians and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists on coding queries Required qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or Science Minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient acute care coding CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification required Experience in a supervisory or management role preferred Florida state licensure is not required
