To support the Cancer Registry rapid abstraction team, the full-time Florida Licensed Data Abstraction Specialist will gather, code, and document first course treatment information for cancer patients while working remotely with occasional on-site visits. Key responsibilities Obtains first course treatment information by contacting physician offices and hospitals Codes treatment information in compliance with state and national guidelines while maintaining department benchmarks Monitors and validates patient data in the Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) and assists the Abstracting team Required qualifications High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree preferred with coursework in medical terminology, human anatomy, and oncology Minimum of 2 years of experience in data entry and management navigating electronic health records Proficiency in Microsoft Suite/Microsoft 365 and database programs Ability to interpret medical records including pathology and radiology reports Familiarity with confidentiality requirements and patient data privacy
