Job Overview
As our Float Pool Nurse, you will help acutely ill adult patients and their families receive comprehensive, safe, and evidence‑based nursing care, regardless of age, functional status, or developmental level. Your goal is to enable patients to reach desired health outcomes and recover in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
- Anticipate, identify, and respond to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
- Guide and direct healthcare personnel (e.g., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (e.g., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, drainage devices) and utilize safeguards such as IV pump drug libraries and monitor alarms.
- Initiate emergency support measures (e.g., cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and protect patients from injury.
- Organize and prioritize patient‑care activities, advocate for patient needs, and demonstrate ethical decision‑making.
Qualifications – Required
- Associate of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing, or foreign equivalent.
- Two (2) years of nursing experience.
- Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona.
- American Heart Association Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
Qualifications – Preferred
- Recent (within the last year) nursing experience in an ICU setting.
Location
Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC), Phoenix, AZ.
Pay Range
$32.50 – $58.90 per hour
