Family First Health Center makes a difference in the health and quality of life of the people and communities we serve by:providing quality, compassionate primary medical and dental care and social services to those who need it most;coordinating care and working with other providers to provide the full range of services our patients need;promoting and supporting healthy lifestyles;collaborating with others to improve access and break down the barriers of affordability, language and culture; andadvocating for our patients and the medically underserved.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTravels to and works at multiple locations based on operational and scheduling needsGreets and registers patients, accurately collecting demographic, insurance, and UDS information in the EHR in accordance with established policies and proceduresProvides excellent customer service by assisting patients and ensuring timely and effective problem resolutionCommunicates effectively with patients, physicians, APPs, and team members, both verbally and in writing, including appropriate documentation in the EHRSchedules patient appointments in alignment with established guidelines and utilization targetsPerforms visit preparation tasks, including pre-visit insurance eligibility verificationMaintains a working knowledge of insurance plans and payer requirementsCollaborates with team members to ensure full coverage of front desk operationsCollects point-of-service payments and provides appropriate documentationInvestigates and addresses billing-related questions in collaboration with the billing departmentCompletes end-of-day processes, including cash drawer reconciliationManages incoming calls, including routing, message-taking, and providing routine informationProcesses incoming mail and distributes to appropriate recipientsCompletes forms and processes patient-related documentation in a timely mannerManages and completes tasks from electronic work queues, inbasket messages, and other workflow systemsPrioritizes, routes, and escalates work from multiple sources to support efficient operations and patient careDocuments patient complaints, incidents, and concerns in accordance with organizational policyParticipates in departmental and organizational meetings as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedCommon Expectations – Medical OperationsMaintains strict confidentiality of patient health records and complies with all HIPAA rules and regulationsComplies with all applicable safety regulationsLearns the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to a reduction in errorsComprehensively reports actual and potential errors and incidents following the FFH Incident/Injury Reporting PolicyReports patient complaints, concerns, and complimentsDelivers excellent customer serviceIdentifies opportunities to standardize processes and systems to increase patient and employee safety.
