Physician AssistantProvides Physician Assistant services to the District in outpatient clinical care areas as assigned, to include the Emergency Department, or any District outpatient clinics. Works collaboratively with patients and other members of the care team to maintain a patient-centered approach to care that supports positive patient experiences while ensuring delivery of evidence-based, quality care.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Provide services to the District as an ED APP. Perform emergency medicine services and Primary Care Clinics as primary care provider.Actively assist and participate in ongoing quality improvement and risk management programs with respect to emergency medicine services.Submit all charges for professional services provided on a timely basis and consistent with District's policies and procedures.Comply with all on-call and call coverage obligations, if any, as established by and in accordance with Hospital's Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.Participate in the resolution of patient and provider complaints and enhancement of patient and provider satisfaction as measured by regular surveys.Participate in community outreach activities at the request of District and as mutually agreed by the parties.Complete and maintain adequate and proper medical records with respect to all patients examined or treated in accordance with all applicable legal, accreditation and third-party payor standards within such time limits as are required by Hospital or its Medical Staff bylaws, rules and regulations.Provide input to District on issues relating to such as budget development, staff evaluations, equipment and supply acquisitions, etc. Assist with supervision and provide input to District's or Hospital's administration regarding services and non-provider staff.Maintain an effective professional working relationship with patients, District staff, Hospital and its personnel and Medical Staff.Comply with all applicable statutes, regulations, and other legal requirements.Perform such other services as are mutually agreed by the parties.Required Education and Experience:Physician Assistant degree from an accredited PA school.Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Washington.Unrestricted DEA.Member of SPMC Medical Staff.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Knowledge of practice management and operations, and patient relations.Ability to cultivate effective relationships and work in collaboration with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public. Strong leadership, facilitation, delegation, and coaching skills or commitment to develop same.Proficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products. Ability to learn and effectively use electronic medical records and other systems and equipment.Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience.
