Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes.
You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns. To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.Delivers professional nursing care to clinic patients; performs diagnostic testing and related clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of licensure and established procedures; independently triages nursing situations in accordance with standing orders/protocols; addresses more complex, urgent or emergent situations escalated from other clinic staff.Performs a variety of patient assessment/care tests (e.g. EKG, Spirometry, vision/hearing screening, peak flow, color blindness, etc.) in accordance with established protocols. Makes independent wound assessments and performs complex wound care and dressing changes, including placement or changing of wound vac); removes sutures or staples after wound assessment by a Provider. Inserts and/or removes tubes, drains, urinary catheters, including removal of peripherally-inserted central catheter (PICC); applies splints/braces. Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests; ensures that patient or family understands follow-up and referral information. Informs patients of lab results, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies and returns practitioners' phone messages.Answers questions and provides health care education and guidance to patients and/or families; explains/interprets results, findings, and diagnoses to patient and/or patient's family within standards of practice.Provides direct assistance to provider in complex nursing care situations.Administers patient medications per written provider order; tracks and logs medication usage per established policies; inventories counts of controlled substances. Administers approved medications (e.g. legend drugs, vaccines and schedule III-V controlled substances) via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes; administers IV fluids/medications, including antineoplastic agents, investigational drugs and/or blood products, in accordance with physician orders; performs installation of fluids or medications into bladder via catheter.
Administers drops, topical ointments/pastes/creams and/or nebulizer treatments.
