Float Adult Hospitalist

Nuvance Health, now part of Northwell Health, is seeking a full-time Float Adult Hospitalist to join its 7-hospital healthcare system across Connecticut and New York, located approximately 70 miles northeast of New York City. The role involves providing medical care to inpatients, assisting with acute illnesses, and minimizing the effects of chronic conditions.

Practice Info

• Float schedule with variability between days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice.
• Position will float between New York Hospitals or Connecticut Hospitals.
• Possibility of working with medical residents depending upon the location.
• Work with the administrative team to obtain schedule based on greatest area of need within the network.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to inpatients.
• Assist inpatients to recover from acute illnesses.
• Minimize the effects of chronic illnesses.

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time.
• Float schedule with variability between days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Work shifts on days, nights or evenings.
• Willingness to work flexible and variable 12-hour shifts for a total of about 15 shifts per month.

Requirements

• MD or DO with CT and/or NY State License, Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance Registration.
• Successfully completed an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Willingness to work flexible and variable 12-hour shifts for a total of about 15 shifts per month.
• Preferred: Prior experience as a staff physician or Hospitalist, but new Residents are encouraged to apply.
