Role Overview

As a Flight Nurse, you will provide critical patient care during air and ground transports, supporting patients with complex needs in various settings including aircraft, hospitals, and ambulances. You will ensure a safe, organized environment, adhering to policies, protocols, and clinical guidelines approved by medical leadership.

As a Flight Nurse, you will provide critical patient care during air and ground transports, supporting patients with complex needs in various settings including aircraft, hospitals, and ambulances. You will ensure a safe, organized environment, adhering to policies, protocols, and clinical guidelines approved by medical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, delivering, evaluating, and documenting patient care during transports.
  • Collaborate with Flight Paramedics to care for patients with critical conditions.
  • Maintain safety and therapeutic environments while demonstrating clinical expertise.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, internal communication, and organizational processes.
  • Participate in committees and support company objectives to enhance care and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (associate's degree required, BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of four years’ nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care; prior flight experience is a plus.
  • Current Alaska Nursing License, BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; CPR certification required.
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License and Passport; NRP and trauma course certifications within specified timeframes.
  • Proficiency with monitoring and treatment equipment, including cardiac monitors, IV pumps, ventilators, and advanced procedures like intubation and chest tube placement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be an Alaska resident; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain airport security ID badges.
  • Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and patient-first approach necessary for success.
