Diesel Fleet MechanicThis role focuses on performing comprehensive fleet maintenance and repair on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy-duty equipment in a professional shop environment located in Pflugerville, TX. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, support preventative maintenance programs, and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will work with modern diagnostic tools and manufacturing-standard manuals while often operating under limited supervision.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and complex fleet maintenance on diesel vehicles, including class 6–8 trucks and heavy-duty equipment.Diagnose and repair hydraulic and air brake systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.Perform after-treatment and emissions system repairs on diesel engines, including class 6–8 equipment.Use diagnostic platforms such as Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Altel, or similar tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electronic issues.Remove and replace mounted wheels and torque them to the specified manufacturer standards.Utilize diagnostic troubleshooting codes to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and implement effective repairs.Manage parts and inventory, including ordering, tracking, and organizing parts required for maintenance and repairs.Work independently under limited supervision, performing maintenance and repairs while possibly operating remotely from a direct supervisor.Use shop tools and equipment, including engine hoists, welding equipment, tire-changing tools, and other small tools, to complete repairs safely and efficiently.Execute preventative maintenance programs by following schedules for oil changes, inspections, and other routine services.Document all work completed, including services performed, parts used, and mileage or usage hours, in accordance with established procedures.Identify, diagnose, and repair issues proactively during preventative maintenance inspections to minimize equipment downtime.Use computers and digital devices such as iPads, desktop computers, hand-held devices, and laptops to perform diagnostics, access manuals, and complete documentation.Repair forklifts and related material handling equipment, including propane, electric, and battery systems, hydraulic systems, and pallet jacks.Work with manufacturing standard manuals and OEM support tools to ensure repairs follow current standards and best practices.Stay up to date with the latest technology and electronic modules used in modern diesel and heavy-duty equipment.Repair and maintain heavy-duty equipment, including class 8, 7, and 6 vehicles, ensuring they meet operational and safety requirements.Perform physical tasks required for the role, including lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, pinching, and manipulating tools and components (with or without accommodation).Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of diesel fleet mechanic experience.Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems.Experience performing after-treatment and emissions repairs on class 6–8 diesel vehicles.Experience using diagnostic platforms such as Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Altel, or similar systems.Experience removing and replacing mounted wheels and applying torque to manufacturer specifications.Experience utilizing diagnostic troubleshooting codes to identify and resolve equipment issues.Experience with parts management and inventory control processes.Experience working under limited supervision and performing work independently.Experience using shop tools, including engine hoists, welding equipment, tire-changing tools, and small hand tools.Experience with preventative maintenance programs, including following service schedules, documenting documentation.Experience repairing forklifts, including propane, electric, and battery systems, hydraulic systems, and pallet jacks.Experience working with manufacturing standard manuals and OEM support tools.Experience working with electronic modules and staying current with evolving technology in diesel and heavy-duty equipment.Experience repairing heavy-duty equipment, including class 8, 7, and 6 vehicles.Ability to provide and use personal basic hand tools.Ability to perform physical movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, pinching, and handling objects (with or without accommodation).Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation).At least 18 years of age.Additional Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience with diesel engines, electrical
