Diesel Technician
To diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain all company DIESEL SEMI TRUCKS & TRAILERS.
Essential Duties:
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition
- Use handtools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
- Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
- Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Repair and maintain company trailers
- Complete all truck repairs less than complete engine overhauls
- Embrace Purcell's culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner
- Maintain standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of maintenance shed
- Protect company assets
- Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule

Drug Testing:
Purcell Tire tests for the presence of THC in all drug screenings for this position, due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job and the potential for injury or death when a tire is installed improperly, or a safety-related mechanical issue is not properly conveyed to a customer. It is a bona fide occupational qualification for service technicians to be unimpaired, so the Company will continue testing for THC and other drugs under the safety-sensitive exceptions allowed by your state.
Requirements:
Required Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications:
- Experience working on Semi Trucks & Trailers
- Working Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems
- Driver's License Required: Must have clean driving record with at least a Class B; Class A would be beneficial but not necessary.

- Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
