We're looking for an experienced, hands-on technician to join our fleet team.This isn't a shop job - it's a field-based, travel role.
You'll be on the road up to 50% of the time, heading out to our fleet locations and properties to inspect, maintain, and repair trucks and trailers where they are. You'll also need to be comfortable on a computer, since you'll be documenting inspections and repairs through our fleet software while you're out in the field.We're looking for someone who's already comfortable diagnosing and fixing vehicle issues, especially on trailers, without a lot of hand-holding. These vehicles are on the road every day, so the work you do directly affects driver safety and DOT compliance. You'll bring the mechanical know-how; we'll get you fluent in our specific tools and processes:Track truck inspections and repairs using our fleet software (Fleetio)Perform maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including trailer-specific repairs (brakes, electrical, lighting, structural): Replace lights on vehiclesRepair minor issues on trailersCheck and inspect tiresInstall and troubleshoot GPS tracking units (Samsara)Ensure safety equipment is working properlyTest vehicle operationsCoordinate with our operations team to schedule maintenanceDrive trucks to and from repair shops when neededTravel to fleet locations and properties across our markets (up to 50% travel, all paid) to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairsMonitor and report on maintenance projectsMaintain our preventive maintenance programPartner with fleet managers to track vehicle recalls and ensure DOT complianceWho We're Looking For:You have hands-on experience repairing and maintaining trucks, trailers, or fleet vehicles - through professional work, extensive personal/DIY mechanical work, or some mix of both, including trailer repair (brakes, electrical, structural)You can diagnose and fix common vehicle issues without needing to be walked through itYou're willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time - this is a field role, not a fixed shop positionYou're comfortable on a computer - you'll be documenting inspections and repairs through our fleet software (Fleetio) and GPS units (Samsara) while in the fieldYou pay attention to details and take pride in doing things rightYou're a self-starter who can work independentlyYou have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, and can pass an MVR (driving record) checkYou're able to pass a DOT medical certification exam and a pre-employment drug screeningHigh School Diploma or GEDWhat Makes You Stand Out:You have experience towing and maneuvering a trailer - personal (boat, camper, utility trailer, etc.) or professionalYou've worked on trucks, trailers, or other commercial fleet vehicles specificallyYou hold ASE certifications or similar credentialsYou're familiar with fleet management or telematics software (Fleetio, Samsara, or similar)You like solving problems and troubleshooting issuesWhat We Offer:$25 - $30/hour, based on experienceComprehensive health and wellness benefitsTraining on our specific tools, systems, and processesProfessional development opportunitiesInclusive and collaborative work environmentA real trade career, not just a jobReady to Apply?If you've got real mechanical experience and want to put it to work keeping our fleet safe and road-ready, we want to hear from you!Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of background screening, motor vehicle record review, and drug testing, as applicable to the position and in accordance with applicable laws.
